Volvo has been bringing a lot of elegant new models in India to compete with several other luxury car makers especially from Germany. But the Swedish manufacturer was missing a performance lineup which the big three from Germany have in their arsenal. But this time Volvo is making the arrangements to take the fight to the competition and launching its Polestar performance brand for Indian enthusiasts. The first of the lot is the Volvo S60 Polestar which is going to be a much more powerful version of the S60.
Volvo S60 Polestar Exteriors
The Volvo S60 Polestar looks exactly similar to the standard S60 but with R-design treatment it looks much more sportier. The design comprises of a wide mesh front grille which houses the brand logo and is flanked by large elongated Projector or Xenon headlamps inspired from a wolf’s eyes. While the side profile gets a bit of difference in the form of new 20 inch alloy wheels sitting on bigger Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. The rear profile shows off beautifully sculpted boomerang LED taillights and dual exhausts. The aerodynamic capabilities are enhanced by large front and rear splitter working in tandem with the neat boot integrated spoiler.
Volvo S60 Polestar Interiors
Interiors have a strikingly similar resemblance to the regular S60. The Polestar will be available on the top of the line T6 trim so it will be available with all the bells and whistles which include heated front and rear seats, Fully Adjustable Front Seats, Power Lumbar Support with memory. Electronic climate control with quality air system and glass moonroof. The driver aids include the Sensus connect infotainment system with GPS, Volvo On-call app teamed with parking assist. The safety features comprise of tire pressure monitoring system, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS™) and Cross Traffic Alert (CTA), Active high beam, ABSadaptive cruise control and city safety collision system.
Volvo S60 Polestar Engine Specifications

The performance sedan will be powered by a New 2.0 litre four-cylinder Drive-E engine which is turbocharged and supercharged to churn out 362 bhp of power along with 470 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission which sends power to electronically controlled AWD (All-Wheel Drive) system.
Volvo S60 Polestar Launch date, competition and Pricing
The launch of the Polestar is going to happen on the 14th of April and it will compete against the likes of Audi S4, BMW 3 Series M Sport and Mercedes-Benz C-43 AMG 4-MATIC. The pricing is most likely going to be in the range of INR 60 lakh to INR 65 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
