Volkswagen India rolled out the facelift version for its premium sedan Volkswagen Jetta in the Indian market. The latest version has witnessed a number of changes in terms of its exteriors as well as interiors. On the other hand, there are no mechanical changes and it continues to feature same 1.4-litre TSI petrol and 2.0-litre TDI diesel engines as that of outgoing models.
The new 2015 Jetta gets a pristine wider grill and redesigned air-dam that not only improves the aerodynamics of the car but also gives a premium look to the front. Talking about the side profiles, it is highlighted by the decorative chrome strip on the side window, body coloured door handles, body coloured rear view mirrors and 16 inch alloy wheels enhances its exterior appeal. Some limited up-gradation at the rear that features a new boot-lid along with integrated spoiler, new rear bumper as well as redesigned tail lamps. The dimensions of Volkswagen Jetta measures 4659mm in length, 1778mm in width and 1453mm of height.
Volkswagen has introduced leatherette upholstery in mid and high level trims whereas ‘Doryc’ fabric seat upholstery is incorporated in the base variant. Engine and Performance
Under the hood, Volkswagen Jetta continues to feature same 1.4 litre petrol engine and 2.0 litre diesel engine. The petrol engine produces 122PS of maximum power and 200Nm of peak torque that comes mated with a 6-speed manual transmission. The diesel engine generates 140PS of maximum power and peak torque of 320Nm that is coupled with six-speed manual or DSG transmission options.
Toyota Corolla Altis, Skoda Octavia, Hyundai Elantra and Chevrolet Cruze are some of the competitors of Volkswagen Jetta.
