Toyota Vios is a four-door premium sedan manufactured by Toyota Motors for the Asian markets. While the car first went to sale in markets like Thailand and Indonesia back in 2002, now Toyota is all set to launch the car in India. Currently in its third generation, the Vios sedan will be Toyota’s contender mid segment market.
Toyota Vios Exterior:
In terms of design you’ll find that the Vios sedan comes with a curvy silhouette, chrome garnished grille, sharper projector headlamps, wide air-dam with protruding chin and a set of round fog lamps perfectly housed in the sporty front bumper. The car comes with a well designed side profile that comes with stylish wind mirrors with integrated turn indicators. Dimensionally, the sedan measures 4,410mm in length, 1,700mm in width and 1,475mm in height, and has a large wheelbase of 2,250mm. It is expected to get a ground clearance of around 160mm, which is good enough to tackle Indian road conditions.
Toyota Vios Interiors:
There isn’t much revealed abound the interiors of the India-spec model of the Toyota Vios , but judging by the carmaker’s earlier offerings the car is likely to come with premium cabin space. Toyota is likely to use high quality materials for the interiors along with comfortable upholstery and a well-equipped dashboard.
Toyota Vios Engine Specifications:
The Toyota Vios sedan will be offered in two engine options. The petrol version is likely to get a 1.5-litre VVT-i engine that is good for 107bhp of power and 141Nm of torque, while the oil burner is likely to be the same 88PS, 1.4-litre D-4D engine that also powers the Etios. Both manual and automatic transmission version will be on offer.
Toyota Vios Launch Date, Price & Competition:
Toyota will introduce the new Vios sedan in the Indian car market at the 2016 Delhi Auto Show followed by a subsequent launch towards the second half of 2016. The car will be priced in India in the range of INR 8 – 12 lakhs and will compete against the likes of Honda City, Volkswagen Vento, and Hyundai Verna.
