Porsche, a German auto brand has introduced a new variant – Platinum for its Cayenne SUV in the Indian market. The petrol and diesel version of the SUV is priced at INR 1.06 cr and INR 1.08 cr respectively (both ex-showroom Maharashtra).
Ever since its introduction in the Indian market, Porsche Cayenne has always emphasized on its position as a sporty preference among the full-sized luxury SUVs. Earlier, the Cayenne SUV was offered in the Indian market in 4 versions- Cayenne Diesel, Cayenne S Diesel, Cayenne S and the Cayenne Turbo. With the introduction of another new variant, the current generation Cayenne is available in 5 different versions.
Porsche Cayenne Exterior
The current generation Cayenne comes with sleek design with sharp edgy character lines along with elegantly placed lights. The front fascia flaunts the signature style grille with headlights, bonnets and front wings accentuating the overall appearance of the profile and derives it with a sharper look. At the rear end, the new rear lights proffers a 3-dimensional effect with other elements such as boot handle, lights and license plate integrated with elegance. Also the new exhaust tail pipes come integrated to the rear section.

On the inside, the major highlight in the cabin is shaped well around the driver which gets a new multi-functional steering wheel along with shift paddles as standard fitment. The rear seats are now designed to provide better comfort and it comes with optional seat ventilation which is offered for the first time. On the feature front, it gets four-zone auto climate control, air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management, Porsche Entry and Drive and panorama sunroof.
Porsche Cayenne Engine Specifications and Performance
The Cayenne is offered in various engine options across the line up. The Cayenne diesel bags a 3.0-litre, V6 engine which develops 245hp of maximum power along with peak torque of 550Nm while the Cayenne S Diesel is powered by a 4.2-litre, V8 engine which is good for 385bhp and 850Nm of power figures. The newly added variant and Cayenne S are equipped with a 3.6-litre V6 bi-turbo engine that produces 420bhp and 550Nm of torque. However, Cayenne Turbo which leads the SUV range comes powered by a 4.8-litre bi-turbo V8 engine which is designed to develop 520bhp and 750Nm of torque.
Porsche Cayenne Price and Competition
With the introduction of a new variant in the lineup, the Cayenne range is available in the price range of INR 1.02 cr to INR 1.78 cr (ex-showroom). The sporty luxury SUV locks horns against the likes of BMW X5, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and BMW X5 M.
