In 2012, BMW introduced its great British marquee possession – Mini in India and changed a whole lot about the compact, powerful and luxury small cars. To secure a bigger pie in the Indian luxury car market, car makers have been launching their best of the best products here in India. Mini is no different and has been pondering to reinforce its product gamut here in the country. Currently, Mini has four vehicles in its Indian portfolio such as the Countryman, Cooper and the Convertible.
At the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, Mini announced the arrival of Clubman in the country this year. In its four years of journey in India, Mini has not got that overwhelming response which BMW has expected from it. Also, Mini's limited number of authorized service centers has put a toll on the overall sales of its vehicles.
The Mini Clubman premium hatchback has been present in the International market since 2008. The latest generation five-door hatchback was presented at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. The Clubman is supposed to be the largest Mini and is built on UKL2 platform, which was developed by BME especially for front wheel as well as AWD (All Wheel Drive) vehicles.
