Mercedes-Benz, the German luxury auto major has finally launched the facelift version of Mercedes A-Class in the Indian car market. The new 2016 A- Class is priced at INR 24.95 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai) for A180 Sport petrol and A200d gets a price tag of INR 25.95 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). The luxurious hatch comes with subtle changes to both exteriors and interiors, with slightly revised features list.
On the exterior, the new 2016 Mercedes A-Class facelift gets revised air dams along with optional LED DRLs headlamps, all new LED tail light and newly designed bumpers for front as well as rear. The side profile of the new A-class is flaunted by new sleeker character lines with 5-spoke 16-inch alloy wheels. The newly launched A-class is available in 5 different colours - Elbaite Green, Polar Silver, Jupiter Red, Cirrus White and Cosmos Black.
On the inside, the new 2016 facelift version of Mercedes-Benz A-class comes with all new seats, large 8-inch screen with Apple CarPlay, MirrorLink, new three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel and refreshed trim colours.
Engine Specifications and Performance
Under the hood, the facelift version of 2016 Mercedes A-Class is powered by the same 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.1-litre diesel engine as that of the out-going model. The 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine produces 122PS of maximum power and 200Nm of peak torque. While, the 2.1-litre diesel engine generates maximum power of 135PS and peak torque of 300Nm. Both the engines are coupled with seven-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox.
Pricing and Competition
The new 2016 Mercedes A-Class facelift is available in two different variants - A180 Sport Petrol and A200d diesel. The new A180 Petrol variant is priced at INR 24.95 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai) whereas the A200d diesel variant is priced at INR 25.95 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). The new Mercedes Benz A-Class competes with the likes of BMW 1-series, Volvo V40 and Audi A3 in the very same segment.
