Maruti Suzuki, India's largest carmaker launched the new Ertiga facelift in the country with a price tag of INR 5.99 lakh. The new model gets cosmetic changes for exteriors as well as interiors along with new 4-speed automatic gearbox and SHVS hybrid technology. The new Maruti Ertiga Facelift comes in 5 variants both in petrol and diesel options – Lxi/Ldi, Lxi(O)/Ldi(O), Vxi/Vdi, Zxi/Zdi and Zxi+/Zdi+.
Talking about the exterior, the updated Ertiga features a refreshed exterior with a new triple-slat chrome grille along with fog lamp, chrome bezel and newly styled lower bumper. Moreover, the headlights remains unaltered whereas the bonnet will get subtle changes. The new Ertiga Facelift gets slightly tweaked side profiles. Moreover, the wheel arches have been fitted to newly styled 5-spoke alloys. The rear profile gets a chrome strip engrossed with Ertiga and coupled reflectors amid of unchanged taillights. Talking about the dimensions, Maruti Ertiga measures 4265mm in length, 1695mm in width and 1685mm in height. Moreover, wheelbase of 2740mm ensures ample of space in the rear cabin.
On the inside, the Maruti Ertiga Facelift gets cosmetic changes such as start stop push-button, new upholstery, 50:50 split for third row seats, power-folding ORVMs, and Auto Up power window for driver side. Moreover, a 7-inch touch-screen SmartPlay infotainment along with navigation is provided in the facelifted version of Ertiga. Moreover, additional features that are incorporated in the new Ertiga facelift are engine start / stop button, electronically foldable ORVMs, touch-screen infotainment system along with navigation, Steering wheels with bluetooth telephony controls, 50:50 split 3rd row seats.
Engine Specifications and Transmission
The new Maruti Ertiga continues to feature same a 1.3-litre MJD diesel and a 1.4-litre K-Series petrol engine. The 1.4 litre K14 petrol engine has the capacity to generate 92.45PS of maximum power at 6000rpm along with peak torque of 130Nm at 4000rpm that comes mated with 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission gearbox. However, the diesel engine comes with SHVS (mild hybrid system) that has the capability to churn out maximum power of 89.73PS at 4000rpm and 200Nm of peak torque at 1750rpm which comes mated with 5-speed manual gearbox.
Price and Competition
The facelift version of Maruti Ertiga is priced in the range of INR 5.99 lakh to INR 9.25 lakh and the new MPV competes with the likes of the Honda Mobilio, Chevrolet Enjoy and the Renault Lodgy.
