With the increasing demand alongside rising competition in the MPV segment, Country’s leading utility brand is also working on its new MPV. The new upcoming MPV has been spied couple of times providing its exterior design and aerodynamics however, there is no official confirmation what the mystery MPV will be called as. Moreover, it would also be too soon to state anything regarding the arrival of the MPV. Also, Pawan Goenka earlier announced that the company is working on two all-new platforms of which one is expected to be seen over the period of 14 – 15 months.
Mahindra MPV – Exterior
The camouflaged avatar of MPV is expected to be the next generation Xylo which haven’t received any updates over the period of time. However, it would be too soon to state anything about the MPV. The new MPV will be longer compared to the Xylo with large overhangs at the front profile and somewhat smaller at the rear. Moreover, it is also expected to get a humungous front bumper along with dual central air dams as well as beefy bonnet.

It is very much clear that the new upcoming Mahindra MPV spotted in the complete camouflage avatar will be a 7-seater or 8-seater. However, no official details are being confirmed about the new MPV. Mahindra MPV – Engine Specifications and Performance
Coming to the powerhouse options, the new Mahindra MPV is expected to be powered company’s most popular 2.2-litre mHawk diesel unit as the ban on 2000cc diesel driven vehicles have been lifted. The 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine is capable of developing 140bhp and 330Nm of power figures. Moreover, the company is also working on all-new 1.5-litre petrol engine which is also expected to be seen on the new MPV. As Toyota introduced the petrol derivative of Innova Crysta, the chances of considering the 1.5-litre unit are very much high. However, there is not official statement from the company about the new upcoming MPV.
Mahindra MPV – Launch Date, Price and Competition
As far as the arrival date of the new mystery Mahindra MPV is concerned, there is no official confirmation about the launch date but we expect it to arrive by the second half of 2017. The new MPV will be pitted against the rivals such as Toyota Innova Crysta and will be slotted in the price range of 12 lakh – 16 lakh (ex-showroom).
