Hyundai India Motors Ltd, country’s second largest automaker reintroduced the much awaited Tucson SUV in the Indian market which is also the one of the most important market for the company. India is a perfect market for the SUV segment according to the Hyundai India which is quite evident with the introduction of the compact SUV. Moreover, the company increased the production of Creta three times in order to meet the needs of the buyers. The new Tucson 2016 SUV will be offered with choice of petrol and diesel engine – 2.0-litre petrol and 2.0-diesel options. The 2.0-litre VTVT petrol engine is capable of developing 153bhp of max power @ 6,200rpm against the peak torque of 192Nm @ 4,000rpm whereas the 2.0-litre CRDi diesel engine is tuned to churn out max power of 182bhp @ 4,000 rpm with peak torque of 400Nm in between 1,750 rpm to 2,750 rpm. Both the engines will be mated to a 6-speed Manual and a 6-speed automatic unit.

Talking about the mileage, the petrol manual variant is claimed to return mileage of 13.03 kmpl and the petrol automatic with gearbox proffers mileage of 12.95 kmpl while the diesel variant with MT transmission returns mileage of 18.42 kmpl and the diesel variant with AT transmission gives fuel economy of 16.38 kmpl.

On the other hand, the diesel base variant gets a price of INR 21.59 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) while the AT GL and AT GLS are priced at INR 23.48 lakh and INR 24.99 lakh (both ex-showroom Delhi).
