Fiat India introduced Fiat 500, a most desirable small car globally, in Indian market at a price tag of INR 29.85 lakh. Introduction of Fiat 500 Abarth 595 Competizione marked the arrival of Abarth brand in the country.
The two door tiny hatchback comes with signature body structure crafted along with rounded nose and thin single slat grille. It is further balanced by a wide attractive honeycomb mesh-wrapped around the air dam along with vertically stacked signature twin headlamps which comes with projectors and xenon lights. Moreover, addition of Abarth decal which runs across the side in addition to the Abarth logo beside the door handles gives it a sporty character. Also ‘Competizione’ badge on the tailgate and the incorporated rear spoiler goes well with its sporty looks. In terms of dimensions, Fiat 500 measures 3657mm in overall length, 1627mm in total width, and 1485mm of height along with wheelbase of 2300mm. It is available in 4 different colour tones – Cordolo Red, Iridato White, Scorpione Black and Campovolo Grey.
On the inside, Fiat 500 comes with all black sporty interiors which are complemented by flat bottom steering wheel along with paddle shifts looks big and sporty, whereas the dashboard looks plain and simple. The Sabelt bucket seats offers comfort, making easy for the passengers to sit comfortably and the side bolsters offers good hold up around corners. Fiat 500 gets digital instrument cluster which includes a multi-function display that exhibits vital information to the driver. Moreover, it also comes with integrated 1-Din music system along with 4 speakers and 2 tweeters. In terms of safety, Fiat 500 features ABS, EBD, ESP as well as airbags.
Engine Specifications, Performance and Mileage
Under the hood, Fiat 500 is powered by a powerful 1.4-litre, T-jet petrol engine that displaces 1368cc which is capable of generating 160bhp of maximum power at 5500 rpm and 201Nm of peak torque at 2750 rpm. Moreover, Torque Transfer Control (TTC) can easily raise the torque output from 201Nm at 2750 rpm to 230Nm at 3000 rpm. The transmission duties are carried out by the advanced 5-speed automated manual gearbox.

As far as the pricing is concerned, the Fiat 500 is priced at INR 29.85 lakh for the Indian auto market. Fiat 500 does not face much of competition in this segment and locks horns against Mini Cooper S – its only competitor in the segment.
