The upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan XL, the longer wheelbase version of the German automaker’s premium SUV, has been spotted testing completely undisguised in India. Sporting an identical design as that of the 5-seater version, the Tiguan is based on the same chassis which underpins the soon to be launched Skoda Kodiaq. Dimensionally, the Volkswagen Tiguan XL is over 110mm longer than the standard model currently on sale in the European markets.
In the International markets, the Volkswagen Tiguan is available with two engine options. These include a 2.0-litre TSi motor churning out 177Bhp along with 320nm of peak torque. The diesel derivative is a 2.0-litre motor which is capable of producing 148Bhp and 340Nm. The Volkswagen Tiguan XL (long-wheelbase) price in India is expected to be slotted around INR 30 lakh. In-terms of its design, the Volkswagen Tiguan XL remains identical to 5-seater model. The model which has been spotted looks to be the one of the top-spec variant. On the outside it gets Halogen headlamps, LED DRLs, roof rails, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED tail-lamps among the others. On the inside, the Volkswagen Tiguan is to come loaded with all sorts of creature comforts and features.
