We had earlier reported that the Ford Figo Sports is going to launch this month but as it turns out the manufacturer is going to lend the similar treatment to the compact sedan version of the same. The Figo Aspire S is going to be the sportier version of the Figo based sub-4 meter sedan. The price of the new Sport model will be INR 30,000 to 40,000 more than the regular Aspire.
As visible in these pictures, the changes in the Ford Figo Aspire are not going to be as radical as the Figo Sport. In terms of design, the front end comes with an Aston Martin-inspired regular four slat grille which is finished in black unlike the chrome ones on the regular model. The front fascia gets another change in the form of the black elements embedded into the headlights. Other changes on the exterior combine of the 15 dual 5-spoke alloy wheels and the ‘S’ branding running the length of the side profile lends it a sporty touch.
The interiors are most likely to be similar to the Ford Figo S and will sport an all black theme instead of the beige and black combo in the regular Aspire. The front seats are also featuring ‘S’ branding on seats and the floor carpets, while the other premium touches will be the leather wrapped steering wheel and the infotainment system derived from the Ecosport Platinum edition.
In the engine department, Aspire was always a hoot and is available in a choice of 1.5-litre Ti-VCT petrol, 1.5-litre TDCi diesel and the modest 1.2-litre petrol engines with a 6-speed manual, 6-speed dual clutch and 5-speed manual respectively. What remains to be seen is whether the company offers all the three engine options for the ‘S’ Sport variant.
