Ferrari’s V12 monster, the ever so raging F12 Berlinetta now has successor and going by its specifications it seems that this one is going to be an equally difficult yet enthralling creature to reign. Called the 812 Superfast, it gets a 6.5-litre V12 engine churning out 789Bhp along with a massive718Nm of peak torque. The horsepower figures are a jump of 60 over the previous 6.3-litre V12 motor.
0 to 100km/h comes in just under 2.9-seconds with the top speed clocking above 340km/h. Ferrari has equipped the 812 Superfast with plenty of on board computers to help you navigate safety though that hairpin bend, letting you enjoy all of those 789 horses without crashing into the nearest speed post. These include Ferrari’s first electric power steering (EPS), a new Side Slip Control (SSC), a Virtual Short Wheelbase, Ferrari’s four-wheel-steering system. Despite being loaded with all this gadgetry on board, there has not much of an increase in weight.
Coming to the styling, this one, the 812 Superfast, keeps its design true to Ferrari standards as well as carry forward the one left behind by the F12 Berlinetta. Up-front you get a menacing look, the side profile is equally jaw dropping while the rear is pure ecstasy.
The cabin gets a new steering wheel, a redesigned instrument cluster while the rest of the specifics, be it design or luxury are similar to what one was to find on the F12 Berlinetta.
Prices and other details are to be revealed by Ferrari at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show where the car will be unveiled for the first time for public viewing.
