Tata Motors is hell bent on making our year exciting and has already shown this intent by showcasing the Nexon and Racemo at the Geneva Motorshow. The homegrown manufacturer also showcased the Tigor which you would be happy to know is coming at an affordable price just like all Tata vehicles. The new compact sedan will be launching on the 29th March while the bookings for the same has started with a token money of INR 5,000.
The Tata Tigor compact sedan is basically an extended version of the Tiago hatchback. It comes with a neatly integrated boot and the C-pillar with rear end look in overall flow of the design. The cabin too features a similar layout as that of the Tiago. The dashboard layout is to be in the colour black while the equipment list will feature the same amount gizmos as is with the different variants of the Tiago. However, the model unveiled is the Geneva edition and comes with exterior colour accents on the inside, a multi-media screen, rear-seat arm rest as new features. In terms of its engine specifications, the Tigor will be made available with a choice of both petrol and diesel engine. The petrol derivative is to be powered by a 1.2-litre Revotron, 3-cylinder unit, while the diesel derivative is to come with a 1.03-litre Revotorq mill. The transmission responsibilities are to be carried out by a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard while there will also be an AMT on offer. Though now much details are to what are the exact prices of the Tigor have been revealed but it is expected that the same is to be slotted in the range of INR 4.5 to 7 lakh. When launched, the Tigor will compete against the likes of Maruti Swift Dzire, Hyundai Xcent, Ford Figo Aspire among the others.
