Tata Motors has extensive plans to once again take on the UV segment in India, of which once it used to be a dominant player. Its onslaught has begun with the launch of the Hexa MPV crossover and is soon going to be followed by the Nexon sub-compact SUV. Showcased at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo in it’s almost product ready avatar, the same is expected to be launched in India during the second half of 2017.
Just like the Tiago and Hexa, the Nexon too will be based on Tata Motors IMPACT design philosophy. The same has done wonders on the Tiago and has also led to a positive response for the Hexa as well. Read Also: Tata Nexon Vs Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza: Comparison
Apart from its attractive design, the Nexon will also come loaded with creature comforts and features right up to the brim. Not only that, the Nexon is also to sport a premium yet functional and ergonomic cabin.
Apart from gadgets and gizmos, the Hexa is also to come with a whole array of safety equipments on board. Just like the Tiago and Hexa, the base variant of the same will come equipped with dual air-bags and ABS as standard. As one moves higher up the trims it could most likely see features like 6-airbags, traction control and other driver aids. Read Also: Tata Nexon with projector headlights spied testing
The Tata Nexon will come with both petrol and diesel derivatives. Though not confirmed, we believe that the former could be a 1.2-litre unit while the later is to be a 1.5-litre oil-burner. A 5-speed manual unit is to be offered as standard across the range while Tata Motors in all likeliness could introduce an AMT version as well.
Coming to the price, due to high localization, it is expected that the Nexon could very well undercut its rivals that includes the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport. We expect, the prices of the Tata Nexon to start from INR 6 lakh and go up to INR 8.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
