Tata Motors seems to be all set to launch its first ever sub-compact SUV, the Nexon in the Indian car market soon. Recently showcased for the first time in its production ready avatar at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, the same has now been spotted completely undisguised right out of the production line.
Tata Motors has been particularly aggressive with its strategies in the recent past, particularly with the launches of the Tiago and Hexa. Done with talking the compact hatchback and premium MPV segment, its next in line battlefield is to be the currently high lucrative sub-compact SUV category.
Talking about the Nexon, it too is born out of the automaker’s IMPACT design philosophy. First showcased at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, the production version of the Nexon bears quite a lot of resemblance to the model which was on display. That said it gets projector headlamps, LED DRLs, dual-tone alloy wheels, body-coloured mirrors with LED turn indicators, roof rails among the others. With its compact dimensions and almost hatchback like characteristics, the Nexon is to for sure emerge as a tough competitor for its rivals.

Talking about the engine specifications, the model showcased in Geneva was equipped with a 1.5-litre Revotorq motor, however it is expected that the India specific model could very well get a 1.3-litre oil burner with the petrol duties taken care of by a 1.2-litre unit.
As far as the prices are concerned, due to its highly localized nature, the Nexon is to be priced in the bracket of INR 6 to 8 lakh (ex-showroom).
