The finalists for different categories of the T1 Prima Racing have been announced today by Tata and setting the stage for the biggest sporting spectacle in India which is slated for tomorrow, 19th of March. A total of three categories will be battling it out at the Buddha International Circuit which consists of PRO Class, Super Class and Champion Class.
The PRO Class will comprise of 6 FIA European Truck Racing Championship (ETRC) sharing the grid with six British drivers from the British Truck Racing Association (BTRA), who have raced in T1 since the sporting event was first introduced in 2014. This is India’s only truck racing championship and is organised by Madras Motor Sports Club (MMSC), with safety and performance standards as per the guidelines of the British Truck Racing Association (BTRA).
The drivers in the PRO category are- Ryan Smith (UK), Stephanie Halm (GER) for Team Castrol Vecton, David Jenkins and Simon Reid (both from UK) for Team Cummins, Antonio Albacete (Spain) and David Vrsecky (Czech Republic) for DEALER DAREDEVILS. Joining them will be Norbert Kiss (Hungary) and Adam Bint (UK) for Team TATA TECHNOLOGIES and Shane Brereton (UK) with Thomas Robineau (France) for the new team ONE WORLD RACING.
The Drivers in the Champion Class will include the previous year’s winners, runner ups which include MD. Parvez, Rabinder Yadav, Malkeet Singh, Jagat Singh, Bikash Mahato, Nagarjuna A, Shankar Singh, Bhag Chand, Gobind Singh and Raju Lal Gurjar.
Those selected through the T1 Racer Program (TRP) and 10 being selected out of 3300 plus applications will be competing in the Super Class. The drivers selected for the category and went through a comprehensive motorsports regimen which was conducted by Tata Motors. The ten finalists include Harish, Gurujant Singh, Mahendar Pratap, Mubarik, Dharmindar Singh, Pitambar, Mohabat Singh, Himanshu Kumar, Shivnihal Singh and Vikramjit Singh.
