Lexus entered the Indian market in March initially with the ES300h sedan and the RX450h hybrid SUV. They had showcased the big, burly and beautiful LX450d as well but didn’t unveil its pricing. But Lexus has finally launched the powerful SUV at a price of INR 2.32 crores in India. It competes against the Range Rover SDV8 Autobiography SUV which and Mercedes benz G63 AMG in terms of pricing as both are priced upwards of INR 2 crores.
The luxurious SUV is based upon the Toyota Land Cruiser LC200 but is almost INR 1 crore expensive than the donor car. It features bi-beam, cornering LED headlamps flanking the spindle grille while the wheels are a massive 21 inch 10 spoke alloy wheels, highlighting its gargantuan proportions.
The interiors consist of a 12.3-inch navigation screen along with 19 speaker, 450 watts Mark Levinson audio system. The rear seats also get dual screens for the passengers with remote setup, four-zone climate control and power adjustment for the front seats. Also available are sunroof and moonroof setup with 4-Camera Multi-Terrain Back Monitor System which gives a 360-degree view of the SUV. The safety features include 8 airbags, Lexus Safety System, Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Intelligent High Beam (IHB) and All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.
The single top of the line variant of the LX 450d is powered by a 1VD-FTV 4.5-litre V8 mill which churns out 269 bhp @ 3400 rpm of power with 650 Nm @ 1600-2600 rpm of torque which sends the power to all four wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission.
