Skoda Kodiaq has been spotted testing several times in India with and without camouflage. We had earlier posted images of the undisguised front and rear end but not the whole profile. This time we bring you the Skoda Kodiaq in its full glory.
Skoda Kodiaq is based on the MQB platform that all the sub-brands of Volkswagen share with each other. The same platform underpins the upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan and also the Audi Q2. Coming to the design of the Kodiaq, it has an elegant silhouette and we are expecting a solid build quality from the vehicle which has been seen on other Skodas.
Skoda Kodiaq gets sleek upswept LED headlights with complementing fog lamps which flank the black vertical slat grille. The side profile of the Kodiaq shows the multi spoke alloy wheels chrome garnish around the windows, roof rails and the running board. The rear end of the Kodiaq gets wraparound taillights which look inspired from the Superb.
The interior spy shots are not very prominent but look similar to the studio shots we have seen until now. The Skoda Kodiaq will come with a three spoke multi-function steering wheel and centrally mounted infotainment touchscreen with GPS, Bluetooth whereas the chrome inserts on steering, door handles, central console lends it a premium factor. The engine on the India-spec Kodiaq is expected to be a 2.0-litre TFSI, a 4-cylinder engine which churns out 180 bhp of power with 250 nm of torque. Complementing the petrol will be the similar capacity 2.0-litre oil burner with 187 bhp with 400 Nm of torque. The gearbox responsibilities are to be handled by 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG auto transmission.
Expect the pricing to be in the range of INR 25 lakh to 32 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and rivals the like of Toyota Fortuner, Hyundai Santa Fe and Ford Endeavour.
