Nissan Motor India plans to launch a slew of new products in the Indian car market by the year 2021. As these new products make their in-roads for our country, the Japanese automaker is going to phase out the existing models which are not included in its future plans. These are to include the likes of the Nissan Micra and the Nissan Sunny which will be phased out eventually by the year 2021.
The company plans to introduce 8 new models in the Indian car market by the same year. These models will be focused on the premium segments while the budget segments will be taken care of by the automaker’s budget brand Datsun.
Talking about the Nissan Micra, the same has already received a generation update in the international markets. However, Nissan has no plans to introduce the same in the Indian car market. It will continue to sell the current generation model in the country up until the point that it is with time, completely phased out and replaced by a new product. Coming to the Nissan Sunny, this c-segment sedan, which competes against the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and the Honda City, has not been able to make its mark in India. Nissan, in the coming days will be focusing on introducing premium SUV and sedans in the country and we could also see a possible replacement for the Micra and Sunny in the near future.
