We all were very excited when we first saw the Tata Motor’s Tamo Racemo sports car. Apart from its rather attractive exterior profile, the much talked about point for this vehicle was its all new Moflex platform. Now according to a report published in Autocar India, this very Moflex platform could be used in an all new hatchback which could very well be the next-generation Tata Nano.
This urban hatchback is to be on the same lines as that of the smart car and will feature a short wheelbase. Not only this, it is to be believed that the car will be an all-electric vehicle. Tata Motors is currently under works of testing its new electric powertrain in the international markets.
This new hatchback could turn out to be the ideal successor for the Tata Nano which currently is under the knife and might soon go out of production due to the rather unenthusiastic response from the Indian consumers.
If launched in an all-electric avatar, this new hatchback will also pitch in with the likes of Mahindra’s e2o Plus. As to when the next-gen Nano is to take shape, is yet to be confirmed as of yet. But it is likely that the same will arrive no earlier than the year 2019.
