The Porsche 911 GT3 is one of the most powerful and potent Sportscar in Stuttgart-based manufacturer’s product portfolio in India. The new 911 GT3 has been made available for purchase by Indian nationals, the deliveries will take some time to commence although the bookings have been opened. One can purchase the Porsche 911 GT3 on order for INR 2.2 crores (ex-showroom Mumbai) without any customisations or add on accessories.
The 911 GT3 is a delight for the purist petrolhead as it gets one of the biggest Flat six on a Porsche which is interestingly mated to a 6-speed manual to give the true blue fans something to remind of the legends of Porsche’s wins in the 1950s. There is no extra cost for getting a 6-speed manual transmission.
When everyone is adding turbos to the cars and downsizing the engine capacity Porsche has gone ahead and brought out a 4.0 litre, 3996 cc dry sump naturally aspirated flat six which churns out 494 bhp of power @ 8250 rpm and 460 Nm of torque @ 6000 rpm. The engine is mated to a seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung(PDK) twin-clutch automatic transmission unit which is a standard unit whereas the optional transmission is the 6-speed manual both of which send power to the rear wheels. The performance figures boast of some lightning quick action with 0-100 kmph in just 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 318 kmph for the PDK whereas the manual boasts of 3.9 seconds and 320 kmph of top whack.
The wheels handling the performance of the powerful Porsche are 20-inch alloy wheels shod with Michelin’s 245/35 ZR20 upfront and 305/30 ZR20 towards the rear. The total length of the GT3 is 4546 mm with a height of 1271 mm and large rear wing allowing it to generate a higher downforce and better performance.
