Speaking at a press conference recently held in Delhi, Mr. Uttam Bose, Managing director – HMFCL said, “The NEXT-GEN Pajero Sport making a debut In INDIA sooner than expected”.
Unveiled at the 2015 Bangkok International Grand Motor Show, the new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport comes with major exterior and interior design changes. It is based on the company's Dynamic Shield Design that also underpins the fifth generation Triton, the new model uses the same ladder-frame chassis. Upfront is X-shaped chrome grille flanked by stylish projector headlamps with L-shaped LED daytime running lamps. There is a new wide airdam and sporty front bumpers that accommodates new foglamps that adds to its aggressive character.
On sides, the new Mitsubishi Pajero gets aggressive creases, flared wheel arches and new sleeker window panes. At the back, the SUV gets veritcally-oriented taillight enclosures with an arrow-like design kink, a rectangular windscreen and a chrome enclosure for the registration plate holder.
Under the bonnet is a new 2.4-litre four-cylinder MIVEC diesel engine that is capable of producing 181PS of power alongwith a peak torque of 430Nm. Transmission options will include a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic units. We believe that the vehicle could be launched by the end of 2016 or early 2017.
