Now that the regular 2014 C-Class is out, Mercedes will be looking to spice things up with the new C-Class range. According to a report by Autocar UK, the German carmaker will bring out the high-performance C63 AMG late next year, to compete with the new BMW M3 and M4.
The upcoming C63 AMG will be powered by a twin-turbocharged V8 engine, codenamed M177. Producing between 455PS and 495PS, this new engine will eventually power a variety of future AMG models. Mercedes will retain the 7G-MCT SpeedShift automatic gearbox for the upcoming C63 AMG.
Year 2015 will mark the arrival of the C300 Plug-In Hybrid model. The car will reportedly use a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine producing 250PS of power, together with a 70PS electric motor.
