Honda Car India’s latest offering, the new City 2017 facelift seems to have picked up the right pace as within just 12 days, this c-segment sedan has managed to clock more than 5000 bookings. With the facelift, the City now comes with a revamped front-facia along with a slightly modified rear-end as well. Up-front, it gets new LED headlamps, LED fog-lamps, LED DRLs and a modified bumper along with the grille. The side profile remains identical to the model that it replaces while towards the rear one is to find LED tail-lights and a boot-lid mounted spoiler.
On the inside, the design and the layout remain identical to the model it replaces. However, the quality has been improved a bit with the major attraction is to be the new 7-inch touchscreen multimedia system. Also Honda has now brought back the top of the line ZX trim which comes with a few additional features and increased safety equipment. Talking about the engine specifications, the new Honda City 2017 gets the same engine line-up as that of previous model. The petrol derivative comes with a 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine which is good for producing 117bhp along with 145Nm of peak torque. The transmission responsibilities are to be carried out by a 5-speed manual gearbox while there will be a 7-speed paddle sifter assisted CVT automatic gearbox. The diesel engine gets a 1.5-litre i-DTEC unit which is good for producing 99Bhp along with 200Nm of peak torque. Here the transmission responsibilities are to be carried out by a 7-speed manual transmission. The prices for the base petrol version of the Honda City starts at INR 8.49 lakh while the top of the line diesel trim retails at INR 13.56 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
