Honda Car India has today launched the much anticipated new City 2017 facelift in India at a starting price of INR 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom, delhi). The update to this C-segment sedan is to comprise of multiple aesthetics updates along with a few feature updates done on the inside of the cabin as well. While the engine specifications of the City facelift are to remain the same as before, we expect the prices of the same to be slotted in a slightly lower spectrum to make the vehicle a tab bit more competitive as against its rivals.

12:49 PM: Prices revealed, the new Honda City 2017 base petrol variant is priced at INR 8.49 lakh with the top of the line diesel trim retailing at INR 13.56 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
12:45 PM: The top of the line ZX trim comes with a total of 6-airbags and also includes automatic headlamps, headlamps auto-off timer and automatic rain-sensing wipers.
12:42 PM: In terms of safety features, the new City is to get Dual air-bags, ABS with EBD, 3-point ELR seat belts with pretensioners and load limiters, impact mitigation front head rest system, pedestrian injury mitigation technology ISOFIX compatible rear seats and rear-windshield defogger as standard across all trims.
12:36 PM: Coming to the mileage figures, the petrol derivative, in its manual avatar promises a mileage of 17.4km/l while in its CVT form gives out an efficiency figure of 18km/l. The diesel derivative gives out a mileage of 25.6km/l.
12:33 PM: The transmission responsibilities, in the petrol version are to be handled by a 5-speed manual transmission while there will also be a 7-speed, paddle shifter assisted CVT automatic on offer. The diesel derivative is to get a 6-speed manual unit.
12:30 PM: The City 2017 facelift gets the same powertrain line-up as that of the model which it is going to replace. Hence the petrol derivative gets a 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine while the diesel derivative gets a 1.5-litre i-DTEC oil-burner. Former is good for 117bhp along with 145Nm of peak torque while the latter is good for 98Bhp and 200Nm of peak torque.
12:28 PM: It will be offered in a total of 5 different colours. These include Modern Steel Metallic (New), White Orchid Pearl, Carnelian red Pearl, Alabster Silver Metallic and Golden Brown metallic.
12:26 PM: The 2017 Honda City Facelift is likely to be offered in a total of 5 trims. The trims comprise of S (MT), SV (MT), V (MT and CVT), VX (MT and CVT) and ZX (CVT). Honda is also bringing back the ‘ZX’ as the top end trim for the City which was last seen on the second generation model.
12:22 PM: Other updates include white illumination of the 3D multi-information intrument cluster, illuminated engine push button, fully auto dimming inside rear-view mirror and new LED cabin lights.
12:18 PM: On the inside, the City 2017 facelift gets a new advanced 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, called the Digipad. Other features include satellite-linked navigation, voice recognition, Bluetooth telephony and also gets Wi-Fi support for internet along with Mirros link connectivity.
12:15 PM: A few exterior highlights of the New Honda City 2017 include advanced integrated LED DRLs, inline LED Headlamps, LED fog-lamps along with new 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels with wider tyres.

The New Honda City 2017 Facelift falls in the price bracket of INR 8.49 lakh for the base variant and go all the way up to INR 13.56 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top of the line trim.
New Honda City 2017: Engine specifications
The Facelift City 2017 is to come with the same engine line-up as that of the model which it is going to replace. The petrol derivative is to be powered by a 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine which is capable of producing 118Bhp along with 145Nm of peak torque. The diesel derivative is to get a 1.5-litre i-DTEC, the specifications of which are 99Bhp along with 200Nm of peak torque. The transmission responsibilities are to be handled by a 5-speed manual gearbox while there will be a CVT automatic on offer as well for the petrol version. The diesel derivative is to get a 6-speed manual transmission.
