The iconic Mini range of cars is set to witness another addition to their lineup which already saw the launch of Mini Cooper S Convertible. The officials from Mini had revealed their plans of bringing the car to India and are finally delivering on them as well. The Clubman is basically an extended wheelbase version of the regular Cooper but there are several changes that won’t be meeting the eye unless seen carefully.
On the design front the Clubman sports a redesigned front fascia with new grille, slightly bigger headlamps with LED units and a new bumper. From the sides it retains the Mini-like stance but the elongated wheelbase is clearly evident. The rear end comes with a classic two-door boot lid and chrome handles which lends it a baller-like identity. The Clubman is the longest Mini ever with a length of 4253 mm which is 270 mm longer and width of 1800 mm, which is 90 mm wider than Cooper S. The wheelbase is an additional 100 mm more than a Cooper S which is 2670 mm.
The interiors are available with multiple customization packs but the overall layout will be more or less similar to the regular Mini Coopers with the round infotainment system. The boot capacity of the Clubman is 360 litres which can be increased to a sprawling 1250 litres.
In the engine department, the Clubman is to be plonked with a 2.0 Litre petrol which produces around 189 bhp whereas the 2.0 litre diesel will be churning out a power of 148 bhp. The Clubman will be brought in as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) so the price tag will be on a heavier side which is expected to be INR 40- 45 lakh ( ex showroom Delhi).
