Launched back in the year 2005, the Mercedes Benz B-Class has done really well for the German carmaker; so well, in fact, that the sports tourer – as Mercedes likes to call it, is celebrating over one million sales since its inception. The car is also the market leader in the compact MPV segment in Germany.
Now in its second generation, the existing B-Class is the first of the new generation compact models from Mercedes Benz. Other models include the A-Class, the CLA and the GLA Class.
Mercedes Benz has also announced that it will soon launch the new B-Class Electric Drive and Natural Gas Drive. To be made available in Europe from February 2014, the B 200 Natural Gas Drive will be powered by natural gas and will be especially efficient and cost-effective to run.
The B-Class Electric Drive, meanwhile, which debuts in the US in the second quarter of 2014 and in Europe at the end of 2014, provides a driving range of 200 km, noiseless overall experience and most importantly of all – zero emission.
