Maserati Levante was first showcased at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2011 and was later on launched in 2016. But the performance SUV is yet to enter the Indian market and we would have to wait for a few more months this year to look at the car in flesh. But fret not someone in Bangalore has already imported the trident badged SUV.
This particular Maserati Levante is finished in stunning blu passione mica colour which is an opulent shade of blue. This is a CBU unit on which an import duty of at least 100 percent must have been levied. On the other hand, when the Italian brand brings the Levante officially to India it is likely to be priced at around INR 1.8 crores (ex-showroom Delhi).
Maserati Levante has trademark Neptune spear on its grille flanked by sharp headlamps with DRLs, while the side profile gets racy vents on the front quarter panel, 18 inch alloy wheels and sloping roof line. The rear end gets a protruding profile with quad exhausts.
Whether it’s a diesel or a petrol is not known but in India, Maserati will first bring the 3.0 litre diesel V6 with variable geometry turbocharger which churns out 275 bhp of power with 600 Nm of torque, taking the SUV to 100 kmph in just 6.9 secs. Later on, it is expected to bring in the 3.0-litre twin turbo V6 petrol which is available in two states of tuning- 430 bhp with 0-100 dash in 5.2 secs while the 350 bhp version hits it in 6 secs.
Maserati Levanted competes against the Porsche Cayenne, Audi SQ7 and even the Range Rover Discovery which are all high on performance despite sporting huge proportions.
