Mahindra, India’s largest utility manufacturer has finally launched the automatic variant of the Mahindra XUV500 that is powered by a 1.99-litre in Delhi NCR region. It seems to be a dealership level launch as we have not received any press release for the same but have confirmed news from a couple of dealers in Delhi NCR. The Mahindra XUV500 1.99-litre Automatic is available from the W6, W8 and W10 trim levels, while prices start from INR 14.51 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). On the other hand, the price for the W8 trim level is INR 15.94 lakh, whereas that for the top-end W10 variant is INR 17.32 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom Delhi). Recently, the Delhi Government banned the sale of diesel vehicles with engine capacity above 2000cc after a ruling from the NGT (National Green Tribunal) board. In order to tackle this, Mahindra launched the 1.99-litre engine variant of the tried and tested 2.2L mHawk 140 diesel engine. This engine powers the Mahindra XUV500 and the Mahindra Scorpio. This engine churns out 140bhp of power and 320Nm of peak torque on the XUV500 and now comes mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The top of the line W10 variant of the Mahindra XUV500 comes feature loaded with features like 7-inch touch-screen display with GPS Navigation, iPod, Bluetooth, USB and Aux-in connectivity, reverse camera & sensors with guide lines, automatic climate control, cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring, automatic headlamps and rain sensing wipers, push button start-stop system and Mahindra Blue Sense technology.
