Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) announced today that the company would be launching a range of personal as well as commercial vehicles in the financial year 2012-13. The vehicles in pipeline in the passenger segment are the SangYong Rexton, Mahindra Reva NXR, compact SUV, Maxximo passenger van and the sub 4-metre Verito.
Perhaps, one of the most significant launches from Mahindra would be the SsangYong Rexton, which was unveiled for the first time in India at the on-going 2012 Auto Expo in New Delhi. Based on the Mercedes Benz M-Class platform, the Rexton SUV will come with a 2.7-litre 5-cylinder turbo-diesel that churns out close to 180PS of power. Few hours’ back we brought to you a scoop video of the Rexton doing testing rounds in the country, which only hints that the new SUV will launch in India very soon. We expect the Rexton SUV to hit the Indian market by the second quarter of 2012.
Along with the Rexton SUV, Mahindra has scheduled to bring in the new electric car, the Mahindra Reva NXR and also a compact SUV before the festive season in the months of October/November 2012. The new Mahindra Reva NXR was also unveiled for the first in India at the on-going Auto Expo in the national capital.
The new Maxximo Passenger Van is scheduled to launch in the first quarter of FY 2012-13 and the sub 4-metre Verito would be launched in the last quarter of FY 2012-13.
In the commercial segment, Mahindra Navistar Automobile Ltd (MNAL) will launch its new 25-tonne construction tipper and a 49-tonne tractor.
