Lexus, one of Japan’s most preferred luxury car brand, owned by Toyota, is all set o finally make its official debut in India today. It is expected that at this initial stage, lexus will bring three new products to the Indian car market. These are likely to include the likes of the RX450h SUV, LX450d SUV and the ES300 sedan.
Lexus, Toyota’s luxury car brand is all set to make its official debut today in India. Cars and SUVs under its portfolio are one of the best selling luxury vehicles in the Japanese car market. At the initial stage, Lexus will be launching three new products in the Indian car market. These are to include the likes of RX450h SUV, LX450d sedan and the ES300 sedan.
All of these cars will be imported to our country with plans to local assembly still farfetched. All will be priced in the premium price spectrum and are to compete with cars made from their European rivals. At this stage Lexus will be opening 4 dealerships in the country out of which one is to be situated in Mumbai, one if Bangaluru while the other 2 in Delhi. That said, though having separate dealership networks, Lexus car will only be serviced at the existing Toyota dealerships.
Talking about the cars, the RX450h is termed to be one of the most successful products for the automaker. Arriving in its latest generation, the RX450h will be powered by a petrol hybrid engine. This power house is a 3.5-litre V6 VVT-I engine paired to an electric motor churning out 304Bhp of power. Talking about the prices, it is expected to fall in the range of INR 90 lakh. With this price tag, it will compete against the likes of Volvo T8 Plug-in hybrid, Audi Q7 and BMW Z5
Coming to the ES300, this luxury sedan is based on the same underpinnings as that of the Toyota Camry and also uses of petrol hybrid powerterrain like the other. This engine is to be a 2.4-litre VVT-I motor, mated to an electric motor churning out a total of 200Bhp of power. When launched, the same will compete against the likes of Mecedez Benz E-Class, Audi A7 and the BMW 5-Series, hence prices are to fall in the spectrum of INR 50 to 60 lakh.
Coming to the final, which is the LX450d, the launch of the same is not confirmed yet but Lexus might just bring in the same to the Indian car market. To be powered by a 4.5-litre V8 diesel engine producing 269Bhp along with 650Nm of peak torque. In terms of prices, the same is to fall in the range of INR 1.5 crore.
