According to several media reports, Lamborghini is gearing up to globally unveil the Urus SUV at Sant’Agata, Bologna in Italy on December 4, 2017. Earlier it was expected that the Italian giant will be unveiling their second SUV at the upcoming Shanghai Auto Show.
Lamborghini Urus will be later on making its way to the next Geneva Motor Show for public display. The Lamborghini Urus is going to be the fastest SUV on the planet as the company has claimed and they will be starting the deliveries of the Urus to lucky customers in 2018. The manufacturer’s factory in Santa’Agata has been expanded to accommodate the new SUV.
Lamborghini Urus underpins the same platform as the latest generation of Audi Q7 and Bentley Bentayga. The Urus has an aerodynamic design which makes it along with a 48V electric compressor along with active anti-roll suspension. All these combine to lend it an aerodynamic stance along with reduced body roll while cornering at high speeds.
The SUV from the raging bull will be expected to have a naturally aspirated engine as is the norm until now. But comes with a hyrid powertrain which comprises of a twin turbo 4.0-litre V8 engine which churns out a power output of 600 bhp which allows it to reach a top speed of around 325 kmph.
The plug-in hybrid SUV will be competing against the likes of Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Maybach SUV, Aston Martin DBX and BMW X7. While Lamborghini is considering the markets in USA, China, West Asia, United Kingdom, Germany and Russia for its sale and hopes to sell almost around INR 3,000 units a year which is almost twice the company’s current combined sales figures.
