JLR India is set to introduce 10 new models in the country by the end of this financial year. For this purpose, the Tata-owned British manufacturer is all set to make the prices of its vehicles competitive in the Indian market which aims at increasing the sales.
JLR is also giving attention to increasing customer engagement along with the newer models as it brings experiential drives to the prospective buyers. The brand is also going to organise an Art of Performance tour across the country and the first one of these was held in the Amby valley township near Lonavla. It gives the customers an opportunity to test the vehicles under the guidance of the instructors and get a real feel of JLR. The company is planning almost 30 events in the whole year for the Jaguar as well as Land Rover.
The 10 new models to launch in the country would include the Range Rover Velar which the company has planned to assemble in India in the long term. On top of that, the Velar will be complimented by the spanking new model of the Land Rover Discovery. The first of these to come to India will be the Jaguar XE Diesel variant which is slated for a launch sometime this month.
JLR is also focussing on assembling more and more products in India to become cost effective. “Last year despite the challenges in the market we were among the only two brands (in the luxury segment) to have grown…This year we are targeting double digits growth,” as the MD and the President Rohit Suri of JLR told PTI.
