The day has finally arrived. Jaguar, the Tata owned British Sportcar manufacturer will be launching its first ever performance SUV, the F-Pace in India today. The prices of this SUV which is based on the company’s lightweight Aluminum platform were announced earlier this month itself. The same takes its inspiration from the CX-17 crossover concept, while one can clearly see that the SUV share its performance DNA with the F-Type Sports car. The F-Pace will be manufactured in the automaker’s facility in United Kingdom and hence will be imported to India as a CBU. The exclusivity of the F-Pace is rather high as this particular product is the first of its kind to be produced by Jaguar since its inception 70 years ago.
Despite being an SUV, the exterior design characteristics of the F-Pace are that of a Sport car. Dimensionally, the F-Pace measures 4,731 mm in length, 1,651 mm in height and 2,175 mm in width. It comes with a massive wheelbase of 2,874 mm. The SUV gets Jaguar’s signature sleek adaptive LED headlights sitting on either side of the large grille, reminiscent of the entire recent fleet of Jaguar. The bumper is extensively molded in order to provide the best aerodynamics. The side profile gets bold character lines, just like the ones that you expect to see on a blue blood sports car. At the back, one gets F-Type inspired tail-lamps with extensive detailing.
The interior of the Jaguar F-Pace is going to feature the best in class comfort features. The upholstery will be wrapped in leather along with high quality plastics and wood inserts. On board gadgetry will include touch-screen infotainment system, fully digital instrument cluster, four-zone climate control along with Jaguar’s rotary gear knob. Being high on the practicality front, the F-Pace will offer a seating capacity for 5-passengers along with a 650-litre boot space along with a full-sized spare. In terms of safety, the Jaguar F-Pace will get multiple air-bags, ABS, traction control Surround Camera System, Trailer Stability Assist, Engine Drag Torque Control, Parking Assistance among the others. Coming to the performance aspect of this performance SUV I.e. the engine specifications of the Jaguar F-Pace, the same will be made available with a choice of two diesel engines. One is a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged oil burner out of Jaguar’s all new Ingenium series. The same is capable of producing 177Bhp along with 430Nm of peak torque. The other will be a 3.0-litre V6 diesel that is good for 296Bhp and 700Nm of peak torque. The former will be available on the Pure and Prestige trims while the latter will come equipped in the R-Sport and First Edition trims. The transmission responsibilities will be handled by an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard across the range sending power to all the four-wheels. As mentioned above, the Jaguar F-Pace will be made available in India in four different trims. These will be the Pure, Prestige, R-Sport and First Edition. The ex-showroom, Delhi prices of the same are INR 68.40 lakh, INR 74.50 Lakh, INR 1.02 Cr and INR 1.12 Cr respectively.
