Jaguar India, part of the Jaguar Land Rover Group, is gearing up itself to launch the much awaited Jaguar F-Pace crossover SUV in the Indian car market later today. The launch event is scheduled to take place in Mumbai while the company had earlier announced the prices of the F-Pace SUV which starts at INR 68.40 lakh for the base Pure variant while the top end First Edition variant is priced at INR 1.12 crore (ex-showroom Delhi). The first ever Jaguar SUV in the history of the British carmaker, the Jaguar F-Pace is based on the Lightweight Aluminium Architecture (LAA) platform that also underpins the Jaguar XF and the XE sedans.
Here are the top 10 facts about the new Jaguar F-Pace crossover SUV.
Engine – Jaguar F-Pace crossover SUV is available in a choice of two diesel engine options. While the Pure and Prestige trim levels come powered by a 2.0-litre 4 cylinder turbo diesel unit producing 177 BHP of power and a peak torque of 430 Nm, the R-Sport and the First Edition trim levels are powered by a 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged diesel engine that produces 296 BHP of maximum power along with 700 Nm of peak torque.
Transmission – Transmission duties are carried out by an 8-speed automatic transmission that comes mated to an All Wheel Drive (AWD) system as a standard across variants.
Features – The feature rich Jaguar F-Pace comes with features like Activity Key and Torque Vectoring along with Powered and Gesture Tailgate. The SUV gets a 12.3-inch display in place of the conventional instrument cluster along with a 10.2-inch InControl Touch Pro Navigation infotainment system.
Luxurious Quotient – Luxury features on the Jaguar F-Pace include a sliding panoramic sunroof, 380W Meridian Sound System, red brake callipers, illuminated Metal Tread plates along with configurable interior mood lighting.
Exteriors – On the exteriors front, the SUV sports LED projector headlights, signature Jaguar grille and LED daytime running lights while the sides get bulging wheel arches along with massive 20-inch alloy wheels. The rear section sports tail-gate mounted spoiler, F-Type inspired split LED taillights and rear bumper mounted twin exhaust system.
Dimensions – As far as dimensions are concerned, the Jaguar F-Pace measures at 4,731 mm in length, 2,175 mm in width and 1,651 mm in height while the car gets an extra long wheelbase of 2,874 mm.
Platform – The new Jaguar F-TYPE is underpinned by an all new Lightweight Aluminium Architecture (LAA) platform which also forms the basis for the latest generation Jaguar XE and the XF sedans. This new platform provides superior agility, performance, refinement along with improved fuel efficiency.
Variants – The Jaguar F-Pace crossover SUV is available in a total of four variants that includes Pure, Prestige, R-Sport and First Edition trim levels. While the Pure and Prestige trim levels gets a 2.0-litre turbo diesel unit, the R-Sport and the First Edition trim levels get a 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged diesel engine.
