Isuzu has launched the MU-X in the Indian market as the replacement of its previous 7-seater, MU7 SUV. The pricing of the MU-X start from INR 23.99 lakh for the 4X2 variant and goes till INR 25.99 lakh (both ex-showroom Delhi) for the 4X4 variant. Isuzu MU-X is available only in two variants and will be competing against the likes of Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner.
New Isuzu MU-X comes with projector headlamps upfront with LED DRLs while the front and rear bumpers come with two-tone metallic grey colour. Isuzu has fitted 17-inch alloy wheels while chrome has been used in abundance for door handles as well as tailgate. The high set rear end gets wraparound taillights and a roof integrated spoiler.
The interiors of the Isuzu MU-X has a dual tone dashboard layout with piano black finish to the central console. It gets a leather wrapped multi-function steering wheel, 7 inch touchscreen system with Bluetooth, iPod and AUX compatibility whereas the sound system gets 8 speakers and a 10 inch roof mounted DVD player just ups the luxury quotient.
The engine on the 7-seater SUV is a 3.0 litre VGS turbo diesel which churns out 174 bhp @ 3600 rpm and peak torque of 380 NM @ 1800-2800 rpm. The transmission is handled by 5-speed automatic gearbox which sends power to all the four wheels. Isuzu MU-X features a ‘terrain management system’ along with ‘shift on fly’ feature which takes its off-road capabilities to another level.
The safety features are in abundance as it comes with 4-channel ABS with EBD, Brake assist, traction control, ESC, hill start assist, dual airbags, ISOFIX seat mounts, auto door lock, child lock, seat belts with pretensioners and rear parking aid camera.
