Now that Hyundai has launched the Grand i10 in India, the brand is set to spice up its latest offering with added convenience of an automatic gearbox. During the official launch which was held recently, Hyundai has confirmed that the Grand i10 automatic will soon be added to the variant lineup.
What we know about the Grand i10 is that it will be offered with a choice of two engines – 1.2-litre Kappa2 petrol and the new 1.1-litre U2 CRDi diesel engine. The automatic gearbox, however, will only be offered with the petrol powered model.
The familiar Kappa 2 unit also powers the smaller i10 but for the Grand i10, Hyundai has uprated it for improved power output of 83 PS of power and 114 Nm of torque. Since Hyundai has not given any details about the auto ‘box, it is likely that the Grand i10 will make use of the same 4-speed unit found in the i10.
