Ever since its introduction in the Indian auto market in 2015, Hyundai Creta compact SUV has received an excellent response from the car buyers. With an aim to dominate the segment further, the South Korean automaker is working on the facelift version of compact SUV. The Korean-based car maker has already initiated the testing of the refreshed Hyundai Creta. To keep the buzz going, Hyundai Brazil has released another teaser of the updated Hyundai Creta which is a pre-production prototype wrapped in black canvas.
Going by the teased images, it is believed that the automaker has worked on the exterior front of the updated Creta Compact SUV as it is quite different from the India-spec model. At the front, the new Creta facelift sports wider hexagonal grille with chrome garnishing, flat fog lamps, revamped bumper, and twisted tail lamps. These styling updates are expected to be seen on the India bound Hyundai Creta and China-made Hyundai ix25 during its mid-cycle upgradation.
As far as the engine specs are concerned, the new Hyundai Creta Compact SUV will be powered by a 1.6-litre CVVT flex-fuel unit borrowed from the Hyundai HB20 family which develops 128 hp of power and 161.81 Nm of peak torque. The Transmission duties are likely to be carried out by a 6-speed manual as well as 6-speed automatic gearbox. The new Hyundai Creta is all set to make its official debut at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show on November 10 prior hitting the showrooms next year which will be manufactured in Piracicaba, Sao Paulo.
As a reminder, the current generation Hyundai Creta has been performing well in the domestic market. With the increasing demand amongst the buyers, the Korean automaker recently introduced the anniversary edition of the compact SUV as well. Moreover, the car maker also witnessed a phenomenal sales record wherein the company retailed over 13,000 units sold in a month. Currently, the Hyundai Creta is available in 3 engines – 1.4-diesel, 1.6-litre diesel and 1.6-litre petrol. The diesel units can easily develop of developing 121bhp and 89bhp respectively while the petrol unit can develop max power of 128bhp. The transmission functionalities are carried out by a 6-speed manual gearbox along with optional 6-speed automatic gear box.
