Honda WRV is finally getting launched today and the company has a lot of hopes pinned to the vehicle. Honda WRV is basically a buffed up version of the existing Jazz hatchback and not to mention both vehicles share the same platform. Honda will slot the WRV over the Jazz and below the BRV and is likely to price it in a range of INR 7 lakh to INR 10 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It will be competing against the Hyundai i20 Active, Volkswagen Cross Polo, Toyota Etios Cross and Fiat Avventura Urban Cross.
Honda WRV has a bold design upfront with wraparound front headlamps between which there is a strong chrome grille lending character to the WRV. The side profile is fitted with rugged cladding to lend it a more upright stance. On the other hand, it also gets a segment first sunroof making it the most affordable vehicle in Indian car market to have a sunroof. The rear taillights are L-shaped and the bumper is fitted with a faux skid plate.
The interiors are similar to the Jazz but with a better 7-inch touchscreen navigation system with Mirrorlink, Bluetooth, USB and AUX connectivity. Other features include start/stop button, cruise control and steering mounted controls. Safety features will comprise of dual airbags, ABS with EBD, Engine immobilizer, speed sensing door locks and rear parking camera with sensors.
The engine on offer will be a 1.2 litre 4-cylinder i-VTEC which produces 87 bhp with 110 Nm of torque and is available in transmission choice of CVT or 5-speed manual. The 1.5-litre diesel puts out 99 bhp of power with 200 Nm of torque while mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The mileage of petrol and diesel is going to be 18 and 27 kmpl respectively.
