To spruce up the hatchback crossover segment in India, Honda car India has today launched the WR-V in India at a starting price of INR 7.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). With this price tag, the WR-V will also compete in the aforementioned segment but also challenge the likes of the existing sub-compact SUVs which include the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza. Based on the Honda Jazz platform, the WR-V gets a beefed up exterior profile and a few mechanical changes done in order to provide it with a rugged crossover-ish profile. 12:58 PM: The Honda WR-V measures 3,999 mm in length, 1734 mm in width, 1601 mm in height and gets a wheelbase of 2555 mm. By these, the WR-V is 44mm longer than the Jazz while at the same time being having an increased wheelbase of 25mm.

Honda WR-V: Price
To be price above the Honda Jazz, the WR-V is expected to start from INR 7 lakh with the cost for the top of the line model slotted at INR 11 lakh (ex-showroom). With this price tag, the WR-V will not only compete in the hatchback crossover segment but also challenge the likes of sub-compact SUVs in India.
Honda WR-V: Features
The Honda WR-V’s feature list is similar to that of the Honda Jazz, the only major difference is to be the introduction of a new 7-inch touchscreen multimedia system called the ‘Digipad’ by Honda. Other on-board creature comforts include steering mounted controls, automatic climate control, cruise control, sun-roof, rear-parking camera with sensors, engine start-stop button among the others. Included in the safety equipment are dual-front airbags along with ABS and EBD.
Honda WR-V: Engine Specifications
The Honda WR-V will be made available in both petrol as well as diesel derivatives. The petrol variants will be powered by a 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine churning out 89Bhp along with 109Nm of peak torque. The diesel variants will be powered by a 1.5-litre i-DTEC unit producing 99Bhp along with 200Nm of peak torque. Handling the transmission responsibilities is to be a 5-speed manual gearbox for the petrol options while a 6-speed manual transmission is provided for the diesel versions. Honda has skipped an automatic variant for the WR-V for now.
