Ford India has today launched the Figo Sport in the Indian car market at starting price of INR 6.31 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This sports edition of the American automaker will be available only on the Titanium variant but in both petrol as well as diesel derivatives. The diesel version of the Ford Figo S is to cost INR 7.21 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Ford Figo Sport comes with a number of new additions to provide it with a sporty appeal; however, these are not just cosmetic ones. The Ford Figo Sport is to come with new 15inch alloy wheels, blackened headlamps, a new honey comb grille, new rear spoiler, dual-tone paint scheme along with body graphics. Ford has also slightly returned the suspension.
On the inside, Ford has provided the Figo Sport with an all black colour scheme. The Sports Edition cars will also feature MyFord Dock — a first-in-class feature, offering drivers a unique solution for storing, mounting and charging mobile phones, MP3 player, and satellite navigation systems, and for integrating these devices into the car’s entertainment system. When not in use, the dock can be closed out of sight. The Ford Figo Sports Edition seats will don impressive red stitching and steering is leather wrapped and uses contrasting colored seams. The Ford Figo Sport is to be made available on the Titanium variants both the 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.5-litre diesel motors. The former is good for churning out 86bhp and 112Nm of peak torque while the latter is good for 98Bhp along with 200Nm of peak torque. Both the engine are mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard.
The Figo Sports Edition will be equipped with dual front driver and passenger airbags, along with ABS and EBD as standard.
