Fiat has finally revealed the Argo hatchback after a lot of wait and the hatchback is expected to make it to the Indian market by 2018. Fiat Argo has currently been revealed for the Brazilian market and is going to start selling from June. The Argo is expected to subsequently make its way to other markets and replace the ageing Punto wherever necessary. It gets a honeycomb mesh grille
It gets a honeycomb mesh grille upfront which is flanked by smoked upswept headlamps with LED elements including the DRLs. The side profile reveals the precision cut two-tone alloy wheels with a spicy element, dual colour ORVMs and plastic cladding around the wheel arches. The rear end also gets contrasting spoiler, sleek taillights which come with creased rear end.
The one showcased in the image is the HGT variant of the Argo while the overall design is based upon the Fiat 326 modular architecture and was Codenamed X6H till now. Fiat Argo has a design which is much more modern than the Punto and looks European more than Brazillian.
HGT variant of the vehicle is going to be powered by a 1.8 litre E.torq motor from the Fiat stables and delivers a power output of 139 bhp which will make it rival the likes of Baleno RS in India. While the other Punto engines will be planted in it when it comes to India. The 1.3 litre Multijet diesel engine with 1.2 litre petrol engine. The transmission duties will be handled by a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed auto transmission.
