DC Design has carved a niche for itself when it comes to doing aftermarket mod jobs to day to day vehicles and these Thar sketches give a glimpse into what is coming next. This Rugged and butch looking Thar is going to be the second attempt by DC at modifying the Thar.
The Thar in these images is not going to be an individual package but will be a package which could be availed by customers for adding to other cars as well. A purpose built bumper upfront does look practical as well as ornamental with its bull bars. The round headlamps are complemented by LED daytime running lamps for a premium feel. The sides show off the two-door setup with raised front fender with flared rear fender. The top of the customised Thar shows the improvised roof rails.
The rear quarter panel looks appealing, thanks to the wraparound glass panels over the windows, while C-shaped taillamps, high mounted stop lamp and redesigned tailgate and custom roof all lend it an outlandish look.
The engines on offer in the Mahindra Thar will be powered by two engine options- CRDe 2.5-litre diesel engine that develops 105 bhp @ 3800 rpm with 247 Nm of torque @ 1800-2800 rpm. The other diesel engine is M2DICR 2.5-litre unit which churns out 63 bhp @ 3200 rpm and peak torque of 195 Nm @ 1400- 2200 rpm. Both the engines are mated to a 5-speed transmission and 4-wheel drive option also being available.
Thus the DC customised Thar could give even a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited a run for its money when it comes to the road presence. All that at a fraction of the price of the iconic although high priced Jeep.
