The redi-GO Urban Cross shares the engine with the Renault Kwid. Under the bonnet is a 0.8-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that is capable of producing 54PS of power and 72Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox. Despite being 25kg lighter than Kwid, the Urban Cross delivers similar mileage to its sibling at 25.17kmpl.
Dimensionally, the small car is 3,429mm in length, 1,560mm in width and 1,541mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,430mm. On the other hand, the Kwid is 3,679mm long, 1,579mm wide and 1,478mm tall. The redi-Go comes with a segment-leading ground clearance of 185mm, which is more than sufficient to tackle Indian road conditions.
The Datsun Redi-GO will be offered in five exterior paint jobs- White, Ruby Red, Silver, Lime and Bronze Grey. The small car is claimed to have a segment-leading knee-room space for rear occupants. It is based on the Renault-Nissan Alliance's CMF-A platform that also underpins the Kwid. The small car will rival against the likes of the Hyundai Eon, Maruti Alto 800 and the Renault Kwid.
