The Aston Martin DB11 is here to replace the existing DB9 in the current portfolio of sports cars in the British automaker’s stable. The same has been showcased in Mumbai several times to create a hype about the upcoming launch which is expected to happen sometime during the latter part of this month itself.
The DB11 is the flagship model for Aston Martin globally and was first showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show for the world to see. The same is currently on sale in multiple countries around the world with India soon set to join the ranks as well.
The Aston Martin DB11 comes under the automaker’s ‘Second Century’ plans which aims at the setting the direction of the sports car manufacturer for the days to come. It has been 12 years since the DB9 was in production after which Aston Martin finally decided to bring forth a replacement in the form of the DB11. The recent James Bond movie ‘Spectre’ became the first movie to star this aforementioned car, making it join the ranks of several of its predecessors which did the same.
The exterior design of the all new Aston Martin DB11 is reminiscence of the brand and hence it gets several signature aesthetic cues which one might find similar to other Aston Martin which are currently on sale. It gets a bold yet sleek and daunting profile, all highlighted by the omnipresent aura of an Aston Martin.
Aston Martins, apart from making a statement with their design language have been equally appealing when it comes to their interior cabin. It gets an all-digital instrument cluster, an 8 inch infotainment display on the centre console among various others. You have an all leather upholstery along with various other comfort features which one can only expect out of a high end luxury sedan from a German automaker.
Powering the Aston Martin DB11, is a 5.2-litre V12, which for the first time in the automaker’s history come bolted on with twin-turbochargers. The power output of this forced induction engine stands at 600Bhp while it simultaneously offer a torque figure of 700Nm. The Transmission responsibilities will be handled by an 8-speed automatic gearbox which is manufactured in-house by Aston Martin and sends the power to the rear wheels.
This combination is capable enough to propel the car from 0-100km/h in just 3.9 seconds with the top-speed clocking at 322km/h. The aforementioned power figures make the DB11, the most powerful car ever to be made by the British automaker. When launched, the prices of the Aston Martin DB11 in India are expected to start from INR 4.5 Cr (ex-showroom).
