British exotic car manufacturer- Aston Martin has recently partnered with the Red Bull Racing Formula One team to manufacture a new hypercar. The upcoming hypercar has been code-named as the AM-RB 001 and will be limited to only 99 units. The delivers are slated to start officially sometime in 2018. However, not teasing the fans for long, plastic and clay models of the car will be revealed on July 5, 2016 next week, showing about the 70-80 per cent of the final design. Voila!
According to a report in Autocar UK, there will be two versions of the car, wherein, one will be dedicated for the roads while the another will be a strictly track (fun) machine. Both the variants will be extreme, however, the track-oriented machine steals the limelight as it is believed to rival or probably surpass the performance of an F1 racer car. Of course, the road-specific model will not lack much in performance and is also expected to outmatch all other existing hypercars.
Currently, the company and its honchos are lip-locked about the details of this forthcoming hypercar. However, there are few elements which are already known such as it will get a mid-engine layout, petrol-electric hybrid, carbon-fiber shell construction, F1-derived hybrid technology and a similar KERS (Kinectic Energy recovery System) which is usually seen on the F1 cars. Besides these, it will come in 1+1 seating configuration and power-to-weight ratio will be 1:1.
In contrast to the F1 car, the AM-RB 001 will be free from the constraints of F1's regulations, henceforth, will adopt numerous of modern technologies that will further help it out to conquer a race track with flying colours. Additionally, it has also been confirmed by the company's officials that the AM-RB 001 will be slightly heavier than an LMP1 Race car, which weighs around 900kgs and churns out staggering 1,014 Bhp.
