The all new Hyundai Elantra was launched by Hyundai with a lot of expectations and it has fulfilled them brilliantly. Despite being on the premium side of the price bracket, the sedan has managed to lap up bookings of more than 1100 units with inquisitive enquiries of more than 18000 in just six weeks of its launch. It has a heady mix of contemporary design and numerous features which helped it get a lot of prospective customers to the showrooms. The premium executive segment sedan has been instrumental in improving Hyundai's position as a premium car manufacturer in India.

It is a sixth generation Hyundai Elantra and was premiered on 23rd August, 2016. The exteriors are underpinned on the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy which comprises of a much sharper design as compared to the outgoing model. The curves are nowhere to be found and the profile is much sleeker now. The front now sports wide chrome garnished hexagonal grille, flanked by projector headlamps which have integrated LED daytime running lights. The fog lamps are housed in boomerang shaped enclosures. On the inside, it gets dual tone interiors with good quality leather upholstered seats. It now comes equipped with an all new 3-spoke steering wheel, an 8-inch touch-screen infotainment system with support for Apple Car Play and electrically adjustable memory seats. On the safety front, it is a secure car with features like traction control system, tire pressure monitoring system, standard dual airbags and ABS with EBD making an entry. It also gets multiple driving modes; Eco and Sport.
The new Elantra has been conceived after 26 years of continuous and dedicated research by Hyundai engineers. The car is available in a choice of 1.6 litre diesel engine which is good for 126 bhp of power and 260 nm of torque and comes mated to a 6-speed manual or auto transmission. On the other hand, its 2.0 litre inline four cylinder petrol motor produces 150 bhp and 192 nm of peak torque and is similarly available in Auto and Manual gearbox options.
