Savji Dhanji Dholakia, a diamond merchant in Surat is quite famous for his generous nature. Yet again, he has rewarded his employees with Datsun Redigo as a token of appreciation for extra ordinary effort put-in by the employees. In order to appreciate their dedication and hard work, this diamond merchant decided to gift a total of 650 redi-GOs to his employees in a single day.
Talking more about the car, Datsun redi-GO was launched in India last year with an appealing price tag of INR 2.39 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Based on the same platform as that of Renault Kwid, the Datsun redi-GO is a bit smaller as compared its cousin which comes with length of 3429mm, width of 1560mm and height of 1541mm along with wheelbase of 2348mm. Offered in 5 variants, the Datsun redi-GO hatch comes in five different colours – White, Red, Silver, Lime and Grey. Buoyed by the excellent response from the audience, the carmaker introduced the sporty version of hatch which is christened as redi-GO Sport.
Under the hood, the Datsun redi-G is powered by a 0.8 litre, 799cc, 3-cylinder petrol unit which churns out 54BHP of maximum power and a peak torque of 72Nm. The engine is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. This combination if driven judicially can achieve a fuel efficiency figure of 25.17 kmpl according to ARAI tests.
In terms of features, Datsun redi-GO single DIN integrated audio system that comes with 2 speakers and support for AUX-in, 3-spoke steering wheel, manual air conditioning system, front power windows with one touch-down function, externally adjustable ORVMs and fabric seat upholstery. It also gets engine immobilizer, central locking with key and child safety locks on rear doors and driver side airbag as an option.
