After unveiling the next-generation Swift in Japan, Suzuki has now showcased the same at the ongoing 2017 Geneva Motor Show. Showcased in the European spec model, the same is expected to make its debut in India around the time of the festival of Diwali this year. As known to us already, the next-gen Swift get a a similar basic design layout as that of the previous generation model. That said, it now has been tweaked completely and hence sports an all new aesthetic profile.
It gets sweptback headlamps which are sharp in their design; grille is now hexagonal in shape and embeds itself into a heavily molded bumper which looks quite sporty. The side profile is traditionally Swift like and continue to come with its sloping roof design. The rear of the car has been tweaked as well and now is a lot more compact and contemporary in nature.
The dashboard layout has been completely revamped as well. It now comes with a much more modern and premium design. There is an all new chunky steering wheel along with a touchscreen multi-media system, automatic climate controls and steering mounted controls among the others. The feature list of the 2017 Suzuki Swift includes LED headlamps, 16-inch alloy wheel, rear wiper, halogen fog-lamps, ORVMs-mounted turn indicators, remote key-less entry, rear-fog lamps, multi-functional steering wheel, touchscreen infotainment system with voice command, cruise control, automatic climate control, engine start stop button among the others.
When launched in India, the next-gen swift will continue to be powered by the existing line-up. The petrol derivative is to be powered by a 1.2-litre gasoline engine while the diesel derivative is to get a 1.3-litre oil burner. The 2017 Suzuki Swift is high on safety features as well. It gets 7-airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking camera with sensors, ESP and Hill hold control.
Prices of the 2017 Swift are expected to fall in the bracket of INR 4.5 to 6.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
